It’s hotting up at the 2018 Bournemouth and Poole Tourism Awards (BAPTAs), with the semi-finalists due to be announced at a special invitation only event on 30th January.
After a rigorous judging process which included mystery shoppers by a panel of tourism judges, the initial entries for this year’s BAPTAs have been shortlisted, and the semi-finalists for each category will be revealed on the 30th January. All of the semi-finalists will be awarded with framed certificates at the Bournemouth and Poole College. The invited guests will enjoy local Fordington Gin and Templar Wines accompanied by canapes created by the Hospitality and Catering students at Bournemouth and Poole College, the canapes have an Eastern theme and they are working with past finalist Sarah Ali Choudhury.
Jackie Phillipson, from the BAPTAs and ROUTEpr, said: “To be chosen as a semi-finalist is a fantastic achievement and this year it is tougher than ever with an increase of over 28% for entries and nominations that now cover the whole of the BH postcode area.”
Following the semi-finals, the finalists for each of the 19 categories will be invited to a ‘Meet the Finalists’ event held on 21st February at Poole Audi.
The 19 winners of the 2018 BAPTAs will be awarded their trophies at the final gala dinner event hosted at The Lighthouse Poole on 15th March – an evening of celebration and entertainment with over 500 business professionals in attendance.
